Did a little bit.

Went to the plot today with juke and did a few hours, had loads to do in my mind but only did a bit. But hey a little is better than nothing at all,I started by breaking some pallets up carefully then gave in and smashed some up. I'm using some of the strips for the new greenhouse roof, just so I can screw the Perspex roof to it. Then removed some sheeting from the plot which was covering some leaves up, I covered the leaves up last year to see what would happen. Some of them had rotted down but most stayed the same the same and the soils still wet,I have moved some around to dry out and will see what happens.

I also moved some logs that had been sitting near the shed and put them along the path,I put them along the path for bugs to use and as a marker to divide the plot into 3. So now i will have a rough idea if I'm using to much space in each section well that's the idea.

More muck

Picked some more muck up yesterday when I left work,I managed to bag about 10 bags up. It's a bit of a pain just doing little at time but it's better than nothing, could do with someone having a trailer or sweet talking a farmer to bring it. The horse muck is from the sons girlfriend and her Mams horses,so I can have as much as I want. I will keep collecting it and when my bin is full,I will find a section on my soil to put it on and save for next year.

Not enough time

I Went to the allotment over the weekend just to take some Perspex for another project later on,it had been snowing the ground was frozen solid. I'd waited all week to go and play and the weather spoilt it,I have trouble sometimes going during the week due to work and the dog. If I can get someone to look after him while I leave work and go straight to the plot he's not bad,if I go home and take him for his run then i go to plot he's makes himself sick\keeps going to the door looking for me\ he's up and down on the chair. It's a little cold for him just to sit and wait while I play, if I'm not going to be long I'll take him and a ball then i can throw the ball In between doing a little.

That's my reason for not going to the allotment as much as i want to,I do love him to bits and he's a right Daddy's Boy his face lights up if he knows he's going to the allotment. He's worse than the kids. Love Him Really and wouldn't change him I'll still take him and still won't get anything done.

Update on greenhouse

We have not had the weather and I've not had the time to visit the plot as much as i wanted, but the times I have I've been trying to sort the new project out. I've had a little help from Keith on building the new greenhouse,we are getting further and further each week so cant wait till its finished. The pallets we have put down for the sides do need more support to stop them from moving, now that we have put more of the frame up we can secure the bottom a bit more.

The top part that's going to support the Perspex has changed shape a few times, only because each trampoline
frame are not the same so had to adjust each one . Now that the top parts are up I've secured the bottoms with blocks to stop them from moving from side to side. So have now got get some timber sorted to screw the Perspex into on the roof, also need to get the back sorted and the entrance.

New boots again.

I bought myself a new boots for the allotment and dog walking,my last ones didn't even last a month so hoping these last longer.

Crocus bulbs

I was cleaning my work van out and I found some crocus bulbs that I had not finished,I forgot I had them stored in the van. Some of the bulbs has gone mouldy and some had started to grow, so I filled some tubs up I got from work with compost and planted the bulbs. I know I may be a little late at planting them, but it's worth a shot and maybe get a flower or two. If we get some flowers I may leave in tubs and put along the bottom of the greenhouse,or may replant them in some large wooden containers.

Frogs

Looks like the frogs have been busy again this year,it was only a week ago when the frogs was mating. Keith had to put some Perspex over half the pond to try and keep the spawn sheltered, because we have had a few days of frost and snow. So fingers crossed everything will be ok,then we may have a few more frogs running around .

Pots I planted last year .

I planted some primrose's last year in pots just for the garden, most of them need the dead leaves taking off but doing ok. So nice to come into the garden and see some colour, will have to sort some more out for this year. Going to make some planters from some timber at the allotment,I have a wooden sledge at the plot what Keith has made for the garden. Can't put it in the front garden only because someone will walk away with it,like someone did
With our bird table we had in the garden.

Few little pets.

While I was making the walls for the new greenhouse from pallets,i had to use the some that was scattered around the plot. Only problem is that when I moved some of the pallets we found some little pets hiding, the main one was a pair of large frogs just looking at me. The newts that we have had come out of Keith's pond while he was cleaning it out,the newts had been put back and I covered the frogs back up.

More done.

Seems ages since I last posted but it was beginning of last week,I do try and blog but alway end up doing something else and say I will do it later. But anyway I've been to the little plot and done a bit of this and that, well mainly bugger all really. I've finished some of the path that leads to the leaves that I have stored, just have to get a little more bark to fill the path up

I have a few more leaves to collect and fill the little cage up,it's took loads of barrow loads up to now and still need to wet and pack it down a little more.

I also made a few more starts on the new build well the greenhouse /tunnel,I was going to use the large pallets that I had collected. But the pallets I had are not all the same apart from the length,so decided to use the smaller ones dotted around the allotment. We decided to screw sections together well 2 at a time,we have used 12 small pallets in total.

So now we have put up two rows of pallets up nearly the same length I might of measured it wrong, also worked out how we are going to do the roof with a trampoline frame. It's going to be one of those builds that change every 5 mins while building it,good job I have my little helper Keith who keeps me on the right track.
