It's took me all week to get to the plot with work and home life it's hard, going to go Friday / Saturday / Sunday well that's the plan. Got told it's going to be a rubbish weekend with the chance of rain, never mind I'll get to the plot if I can. Anyway I picked up all the onions that had been drying on the floor, not 100% dry yet couldn't chance leaving them incase it rained. I pulled up a few more onions that had tipped over, put them all in the wheelbarrow and covered them over incase it rained. Still the odd onion still standing but not a lot,I've put the onions in the greenhouse to dry for now and will put the rest in later.
This is my blog all about my first allotment which i am trying to get up and running,i will post pictures and some writing about my time on the allotment.Well they may not be a lot of writing on the blog but i will post the pictures,we will see how it goes anyway.

Things are coming on.
Things are coming on in the greenhouse slowly but still coming on, the cucumbers have swelled out and are taking over the greenhouse. I've taken a couple already a bit pale but still tasty, will need to pick more before they get out of control. The toms are filling up and are all green just need them to turn red,the peppers are growing but are real small.

Onion and garlic
Still losing loads of onions to rot for some reason, nothing changed in the last few years I've grown onions. Only thing that may have changed is the weather, long days of hot weather and odd day of rain. Still have a few onions looking good and should be ok,but a lot will be thrown away. The garlic was doing ok then it died back, the odd one had gone rotten but some have made it. So I've dug them all up an left them to dry out,I'll still eat them if they make it through the next few weeks

Veg and weeding

Weeding
I've been weeding for the last few days and I'm loving it for some reason, well I know the reason why I'm enjoying it. We have had some rain this week and it has made the soil just right for weeding,it beats doing it when the soil is rock hard. Also it makes you feel happy when you step back and see a nice clear-ish plot for a change, still have to be in the right frame of mind to weed also. Right better crack on and do some more.

Just a little veg.
While doing my favourite thing on the allotment weeding I gave up and used the hoe,I did chop a few cabbages down by mistake but got most of the weeds. I also knocked over a turnip plant and I had a baby turnip stuck to it,so I quickly washed it and scoffed it. It was very nice and will have to pick a few more while still young, also picked a few courgettes as these are growing quite fast. Picked the normal green ones and have some new yellow ones, never tried them before and can't wait to try them.

Early start
I finished work at 6:30 am and went straight to the allotment,I was tired out but didn't want to miss the the chance to weed. Well it had been raining few days ago and we couldn't get on the plot,so the water had dried up on top but still damp underneath. So that made the weeding a little better than last week when it was rock hard,so I spent 3 and half hours on my knee's weeding a section. I got 95% of it done but the tiredness caught up with me and I needed to go home,so will finish it on Friday when I finish work after lunch. I won't get much done this weekend got a busy one,got a stag party to go to on Saturday, then Sunday it's someone's house party so nothing do then. I may get to the plot on Monday If I feel ok,it should be ok even with a thick head. Whilst I was weeding the plot I uncovered my carrot patch, well I don't think I can supply a rabbit with tea for a night.
