Tidy up

I gave the shed a quick tidy up today you can't tell but I know it's been done,well it's tidy so the kids now see what to pinch. I had to sort the cover out on the shed roof because it had blown off,i will have to nail it down once It drys out and stops being windy. The path I share with the chap next to me on the allotment gets quite muddy, so we have collected some slabs up to make a path but we need loads more.

Fill gaps up

Had a quick visit to the allotment today couldn't do much apart from odd jobs around the plot,I started to fill the bottom of the fence up with spare slats of wood. I haven't enough pallets to finish the full allotment but enough slats to fill the gaps,should get some more pallets in January.

Sheeting

Went to the allotment last week to carry on with the fence and carry on with the weeding,I split some more pallets up so I can block the bottom of the fence up. I finished a little more weeding and got a chance to cover it over with some sheeting from work,the sheeting was a little long so we cut it down into 2 sections about 13ft x 25ft.

Still plodding on.

Been to the allotment a couple of times this week just to get a little done,I've dug a little more and put some more fencing up. I have still got a bit to dig over and weed but it's quite wet and heavy, so will have to do it when it drys out a little. The fence I coming on quite well but still need a few more pallets to finish the job.

Up to now I used about 21 pallets and still need around another 14 more to finish most of it, then I will need the bottom of the pallets to block the holes on the pallets.

We had our visit.

We had our visit today with the police/council/local MP also a man with a camera,we were getting filmed for a tv show for next year about crime. We didn't know about the filming until he turned up with the police, we will see what it turns out like next year not looking forward to it.

The meeting went ok it was just two of us from the allotment and the council/police/Mp,we said a few things about what had been going on regarding the thefts. We had a walk around the site and the man from the council wrote some notes,don't know if anything will come of it but we have had more interest this time than over the las few years. It looks like we may have to sort an allotment association out,that way we may get some funding to get the jobs done that need doing.

Not a lot to report

Not a lot to report about the allotment this week so far, it's been a little windy and wet. One thing I've started to do is try and finish the fencing, I've put some panels up may not be good but its a fence. Am going to the plot after work if weather permits and do some more fencing, also I have the meeting with council and police tomorrow afternoon so will let you know how it goes.

Some pallets claimed from a local company,so now i can finish the fence around the allotment. I have managed to strip the pallets down so I have some ready made fence panels.

Still going

Hi all I've still been going to the allotment on the days I get chance to and keep doing a little at a time, I've done some more digging so I am getting through slowly. I got hold of some pallets the other day,so i went to my depot to start to strip some down so I can finish doing the fence. I have still got a lot to do on the fence, but will just do it when I get chance or when the weather is bad. I am picking about 20 pallets up this week so I have a busy few days splitting them down,I did want all the same colour and size but have no chance at getting them.

I have a meeting next week with the police / local Mp and council about the thefts we have had at the allotments, don't think much is going to change because nobody else reports anything and the council have no money to change anything. I will keep you informed on how the meeting goes if any does happen, i will try and update the blog more often than I'm doing at the moment.
