Keeps harvesting

It's the time of year when you can keep harvesting all that lovely veg,but the downside the plot starts to look empty. The greenhouse is still producing plenty of toms/cucumbers/peppers/chilli's,the peppers and cucumbers + toms get eaten straight away but chilli's get frozen. The better half doesn't like chilli's so I freeze them and use in stir fry's and curries, but I don't tell the better half that I've slip the chilli's in the meals.

I've still got two rows of 2nd early's to dig up and that leaves me 4 main crop, still have plenty off swede/marrows/sweetcorn/beetroot pick up and the odd give away.

Cucumber plants are growing.

My cucumber plants have started to a little in the greenhouse, but I think I may of over done it by planting to many in one tub. I have put 3 plants in each tub which was fine when each one was small, now that each plant has grown a little more it's like a forest in the greenhouse. Last year I did the same 3 plants and was ok,I can't even move them because all of them are tied to each other as they have grown.

Got told yesterday the spuds which we thought had blight isn't blight just became water logged, still going to still cut them down with the plants on still dying and won't help the spuds underneath. It's not just on the allotments that are suffering with damp
Spuds the farmers are also,I thought my toms had blight so I cut the infected sections away hoping that cures it.

In other news I got a bit more weeding done so slowly getting to the end, then we can start all over again.

Good couple of days

I had an early start on the allotment yesterday i was they at 5:30 in the morning, i got what i wanted to do and a little more done as well. I managed to water everything yesterday so all have had a good drink,i have planted my cucumber plants into grow bags but will take one plant out so its not over crowded. The celery and courgettes are coming on a pretty good now that they have been re potted, I've  put up some fleece up in the greenhouse to protect the plants from the sun, just so they don't get burnt during the day. Also done quite a bit of weeding around the allotment 1 to remove the weeds and 2 to loosen the soil so if we do get some rain it doesn't sit on the crusty soil. I have also planted some more iceberg lettuce and carrots to see if these grow better than the other ones planted a while ago.
